![]() Our House![]() NameYes, the name of the house. In this region, the Mühlviertel, houses (especially farmhouses) have names. Our house is called "Toni Hiasl". Toni is short for Anton, Anton Wakolbinger being the man who built the house. Hiasl is short for Matthias, but we dont know yet where that comes from. It is quite unusual that the housename is composed of two first names.PhotosThe first time I saw the house was on these photos taken by the real estate agent. The quality is not really good - the pics here were not scanned in from real photos, but from color copies of the original photos. These photos show the house as it looked when we moved in. I should take some current photos - we cleared up a lot of those wild growing bushes ... In May 1998 we set up a Maibaum (may pole). The house is quite famous locally. There was a legal fight about the right to use the water of a certain spring between the then owner of the house and a neighbour. The whole affair lasted over 20 years and was taken to the highest court twice. In the pile of paper concerning the legal fight I found two newspaper articles about the house. HistorySorry, no history yet.![]()
